I am thrilled to be introducing a new series here at the Small Seed called Finding your Answers. I find that one of the hardest things in life is finding and recognizing the Lord’s answers to the questions we ask. Many of us ask complex, difficult questions: Is God really there? Does He love me and have a plan for me? What do I need to be doing with my life? Should I marry this person? How do I find balance in this life between my many responsibilities? Other times, we ask simpler questions that are equally as important: How do I raise my children? Where should I move? Should I accept this job? How do I find a job? The questions for which we need guidance and answers seem endless.
I haven’t always been good at finding and recognizing the way the Lord has answered my own questions. Some answers have come after years and years of struggle and perseverance. Some answers have come immediately–like a heavy weight pressing on my heart until I knew exactly what I needed to do. Other answers that I have struggled for and worked for have never come, instead, peace filled my heart with the knowledge that it would all work out.
Through all of this asking, searching, and pondering, I have learned that the Lord does answer our prayers and that he gives us personal revelation. I know this as surely as I know that the Lord has a specific plan for each of us–and that having questions, and finding answers is one of the most important quests we have on this earth.
In the coming month, we will be posting interviews from those who have found answers to the questions of their lives. These good and inspiring souls come from all walks of life with a variety of experiences and struggles. It is our prayer that these examples will guide you and show you the steps you must take when your vision and path is cloudy, just as it gets for each of us from time to time. It is our hope that you will be inspired, uplifted, and filled with knowledge on how you can find YOUR answers to the questions you have.
No matter what questions you have, we promise that the Lord will answer in his own due time. We encourage you to press onward in your quest of Finding Your Answers.
