It’s an honor to introduce you to Brigette Turner as today’s Friday Feature! She’s a woman who is not only a believer, but a true disciple of Christ, both as an individual and in her marriage and family. She is a wonderful example of what it means to be a light, and her instagram feed, etsy shop, and blog are as inspirational as they are beautiful (which is saying a lot!). Getting to know her through her answers has challenged me to be more faithful, and to put more trust in God in all things. We’re so excited to highlight her today!
Q: Brigette, tell us a little about what you do and what motivated you to do it?
A: I have an, at times overwhelmingly, HUGE passion to empower, encourage, equip and inspire others. I’ve seen how God has used my very normal and seemingly inadequate life in big ways for His glory and I cannot help but imagine the ways He can use YOU. This passion is constantly being poured out in various ways. For example, my husband and I are currently doing a monthly “Missional Marriage” series with the purpose of encouraging my readers to pursue intentionality in their marriage once again. According to the Bible, a husband and wife relationship ought to reflect the sacrificial love and commitment He has for his people- and so we want to reflect that accurately. I also host a small Facebook community group for women who have miscarried. A few weeks after I miscarried, everyone moved on with their lives, but my heart was still in the middle of very real and raw grief. So I wanted to provide a safe place for women to be prayed over and to pour their hearts out if they’re still hurting. A place where we can rejoice with one another when they’re expecting again and to pray specifically on those very scary first ultrasound appointments. As far as my shop, I offer custom branding services to equip creative entrepreneurs professionally and cohesively as they chase after their dreams. My Etsy shop is also full of art prints for children and couples that proclaim God’s word boldly and beautifully.
Q: How does your faith play a role in your work?
A: I pray. And I pray some more. I pray for everything from creativity and fresh new ideas to praying for my sweet customers and followers. And you better believe I’ve prayed for YOU. I attempt to keep Christ the center of it all. I slip and stumble and get caught up on things that do not matter for eternity often, but God slowly, graciously brings me back and reminds that it is all about Him.
Q: What do you hope people take away from your pieces?
A: I want boys and girls to KNOW Him and to make Him known. To know God’s heart. His goodness. His faithfulness. That they would grow up hiding these truths in their hearts. And for couples to be reminded the beauty of marriage; and to fall in love all over again with their spouse.
Q: What is your goal now, and how are your working to achieve it?
A: I am currently praying about different ways to continue to empower, encourage, equip and inspire. A goal is to create gorgeous organizational tools for mommas to feel empowered for the days, weeks, months ahead from meal planning to a cleaning schedule. I’m also considering making pre-made logos for the creative entrepreneur who is just beginning and cannot afford full custom branding quite yet! We’ll see how else the Lord leads me.
Q: How has your faith impacted you as a person?
My faith has impacted and continues to impact my entire life. Every recess of my heart and mind He continues to make more like Him for my good and His glory. “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
Q: Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
A: My husband and I are currently reading through the book of Hebrews together and it says, in chapter one verse three, “He (Jesus) is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.” I’ve read this before, but it hit me in a fresh, new way. One, the fact that God himself would come in to this fallen world for our sake to reconcile us to the Father is just amazing. And two, the fact that my Heavenly Father, UPHOLDS the universe by His power. We can have so much comfort and trust in Jesus. When we are afraid, we can put our trust in Him. Psalm 56:3
Brigette was so sweet to make this gorgeous download for you as well, and we love the idea of making a prayer list of things we want to keep on our minds and in our hearts! (I am thinking of laminating mine and using dry erase markers as my list changes!)
Thank you Brigette!
